A final word from the club President:

"I dont think there is a word for what we accomplished here, if there is it's not easily coming to mind. What started out 5 years ago as Durham Lacrosse skills and drills has grown in that short time to 6 teams plus a full Paperweight program being the West grey Rampage, competing in Zone 8 of the Ontario Lacrosse Association. Complete with an over extended, half filled executive committee of crazy people dedicated to making this work. I can honestly say that the list is way to long for the all of the people that deserve a big thank you and pat on the back.. coaches.. especially coaches, managers, refs, executive, mom taxis, sponsors, arena staff, so many more.. you all know who you are. I hope your sense of accomplishment and pride will suffice for now.

Before last March most if us haven't payed any attention to Lacrosse. So what just happened? The answer I have is after a little introduction in the schools and the Try Lacrosse program, then the sport speaks for its self. I think the evidence is that in five months we all became addicted to the Medicine game. Its skill, intensity and sportsmanship is second to none.

Our coaches and parents have had the monumental tasks of teaching, mentoring, and working through the hard lessons of Lacrosse. Lessons that only a sport like Lacrosse can teach, lessons we can't teach on the playground anymore, lessons I hope they can keep.

The sentence " they have come a long way since the beginning of the year" keeps being echoed around the arena. I bet we all agree with this statement. Maybe it's also an understatement at the same time. It seems West Grey was ready and waiting for the Rampage to take roots here.

Welcome to Lacrosse! "
