We are ready to go for 2021 Return to Play!
Rampage registrations are strong! Welcome to our new and returning families! Our team numbers are better than what we imagined. We did not expect to be in the position of team overflow and waiting lists.
The logistics of running a Lacrosse program on soccer fields while following our health unit, the provincial and OLA guidelines, can get pretty crazy as you can imagine. We are lucky to have a bunch of dedicated coaches and exec who are working at getting the Rampage back up and running. In the spirit of growing the sport, certain larger groups will be split to maintain our health unit's guideline of 25 players per team. Keep in mind this program is to get our kids out and strengthening the Rampage.
We are asking parents and players to have patience and follow the covid protocols while on the fields. There is a Return to Play template available in the documents section of the website. https://westgreyminorlacrosse.com/
Here is a quick summary:
- The soccer fields are split into an East and West field, and both ends of the field may be used to split teams after the first night (field 1 is to the north, and field 2 to the south).
- Come dressed as there are no change rooms.
- Portable washrooms are available.
- Bring a labeled water bottle.
- Arrive no more than 10 minutes before your practice time and promptly leave after your session
- Follow signage available
- Come to the pavilion to check in, sanitize your hands and sign important documents (this will need to happen every practice)
- If you don’t feel well and have any signs associated with COVID-19,
do not attend!
- Parents and players are to wear a mask and players may remove their mask once their helmet is on.
- One parent/guardian per player if needed
-If you have further questions or need to report a missed session for a COVID-19 symptom, please contact our Communications Officer, Suzanne Brown at [email protected]
Parents! Please remind your children that this year is a little different:
-no physical contact is allowed
-stick-to-stick contact IS allowed
-keep their distance between other players and support staff
-do not touch the balls with their hands (stick only)
-have fun and enjoy returning to play!
Lastly, each team will need a safety manager to ensure players and parents check in for each practice and to maintain these records until the end of programming. Please let the executive know at the first practice if you can help with this essential role.
If you are not already part of our Facebook group, please consider adding us to follow along during the season for pictures and updates: West Grey Minor Lacrosse-Rampage
