Team & Game-Day Staff

West Grey Minor Lacrosse is supported by a dedicated group of volunteers and game-day staff who help ensure a safe, organized, and positive lacrosse experience for all participants.

Police Checks Required
Police checks are mandatory for coaches, trainers, and some volunteers. Please contact our privacy officer with your intent to be a coach, trainer, or “floor helper” before completing a police check. A letter for local police services can be provided.

West Grey Minor Lacrosse is fortunate to have experienced volunteer coaches, with an expanding coaching team. Additional volunteers are always welcome.

Coaching Requirements:

  • Attend a one-day OLA Community Development Clinic
  • Complete an online concussion awareness module
  • Complete a Police Check / Vulnerable Sector Check

NOTE: House league coaches and floor helpers are not required to attend an OLA coaching clinic.

Each team must have a trainer on the bench for games (one trainer per team). West Grey Minor Lacrosse is seeking additional trainers.

Recognized Certifications:

  • St. John Ambulance Emergency First Aid (8+ hours)
  • Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & Basic CPR
  • Sport Alliance of Ontario / Red Cross Sport First Aid
  • Ontario Hockey Trainer’s current certification
  • Professional designation with letter of employment (MD, RN, Police Officer, Firefighter, Paramedic)
  • Lifesaving Society - Standard First Aid (Ontario) or Emergency First Aid/AED Sports & Recreation (Quebec)
  • Action First Aid Standard First Aid
  • Rescue 7 Standard First Aid
  • Workplace Medical Corp First Aid / CPR / AED

This important role ensures the smooth operation of the team and allows coaches to focus on lacrosse activities.
Duties:

  • Relaying floor times and schedule changes to families
  • Managing attendance
  • Submitting game sheets to the Zone
  • Assisting with tournaments
  • Managing team webpage content and rosters

The Parent Representative supports the team manager and focuses on parent coordination and volunteer involvement.
Duties:

  • Promoting volunteer opportunities
  • Collecting volunteer hours at season end
  • Supporting team fundraisers
  • Organizing home game box duties (scorekeeper, time clock, shot clock)

West Grey Minor Lacrosse is currently seeking individuals to assist with Gamesheet and Timekeeper duties during games.
