Arthur Tournament B Champions!
The U15 West Grey Rampage travelled to Arthur for the Brent McDougall Memorial Tournament on July 9th. After a sluggish start to the tournament, the team reeled off two impressive wins to take the Consolation title.
A tough matchup with Brantford in game one of the tournament ended with an 11-2 loss. The Rampage got down early and couldn't recover against a solid Warrior team. Kohen Matthews was the lone bright spot with both goals, Blake Howes and Jack Farley each chipped in an assist.
The early morning cobwebs were shaken loose in game two with a convincing 7-2 win over the Toronto Beaches team. Adam Henderson got the team rolling early with two quick goals in the first period and Jack Farley added one more before Landon Boulton scored three in a row to put the game away. Jacob Young added a late unassisted goal to finish off the scoring for the Rampage.
This earned the Rampage a trip to the B final against a talented Midland squad. West Grey played one of their best all around games of the year and controlled the majority of the play in a tight game. After giving up a shorthanded goal early to Midland, the boys rallied and scored three straight to earn the title. Landon Boulton scored to tie it up in the first period and Jack Farley scored the eventual game winner half way through the first period and also added an assist on another Boulton goal in the second period. In the third period, the team defense smothered Midland and didn't allow them back in the game. Great team win and a successful tournament for the Rampage!
